Lhonak Glacier Ice Cave, continued
The wind above Ghunsa was relentless. It never stopped. There were no trees to stop the wind or to hide behind. The best we could do was to hide between the rocks to get out of the wind. Figure 2 is a picture of Emma hiding from the wind.

We had to cross an immense boulder field to get to Lhonak. At this point in the trip dirt had disappeared and we were left with rocks. Big rocks, small rocks, medium sized rocks, dark rocks, pretty rocks, ugly rocks, lite rocks, bed rock, light colored rocks, and more rocks. People who had gone before us made rock cairns to mark a path through the rocks. This trip across the boulder field lasted the better part of a day. As we carried on the rocks became more plentiful and the air thinner. I realized at one point that we would have to come back this way. I didn't want to play any more. I just wanted my mommy.
