River and Ride 2010: Part 2
Part 2...The Ride
After the river, we will be dropped off in downtown Moab. We will head to our hotel, get cleaned up, have a sit-down dinner and say our good-byes to those that will be leaving us. For the ones that are venturing on the Part 2-The Ride, we will hit the local supermarket and pack for the trails. We will also pick-up all permits necessary for our journey.
Off road riding in Utah can give you an endless variety of undulating and challenging terrain while bombarding you with spectacular scenery and experience. But, at the same time can be very dangerous. Please read this page on ATV'ing in Utah for more information.
Hotel:
Our hotel will the the Redstone Inn, 535 South Main, Moab, Utah 84532 TEL: 435-259-3500, TOLL FREE: 800-772-1972. This hotel is central to the grocery, food, and for those that are getting ATV rentals.
ATV/UTV Rental:
For rentals, our outfitter will be Moab Outback ATV Rentals, 1082 South Highway 191, Moab, UT, 84532 TEL: 435 259-4535, Tues - Sat: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. We will pick up the trailers the morning of our trip.
DAY 1
After a quick breakfast and hotel checkout, we head to the Moab Outback ATV Rentals and pick-up the trailers for those that are renting. After safety instructions we head back north up Highway 191 and turn west on Highway 313. We head west for eight miles and turn right on a graded road and go approximately 200 yards to the entrance of the Lone Mesa Camping Area. This re-developed campground will be our base camp for the next three days. You can download a map pdf here.
